Melissa and Dave originally got recommended to me by Rachel who earlier on that year had a Family Photography Session with me. Melissa and Dave are one of the sweetest couples I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and it was fantastic to be able to document their wedding day.
Melissa and Dave chose the beautiful Sandon Hall in Staffordshire for their wedding day. Melissa’s Father had passed away a few years before and she couldn’t think of a better place to have it than in Staffordshire, where he was from. There were lots of fond memories of him that day, from the photograph she had of him in a tiny locket on her bouquet, the loving message she had on a helium balloon released off after the reception, to the speeches from Eileen, Mike and her Groom Dave involving her lovely father. It was very emotional but Melissa knew that he was watching over on her special day.
I had a fantastic morning with Melissa, her mother Eileen, Eileen’s partner Mike and all the bridesmaids at Eileen and Mike’s house just down the road from their fantastic wedding venue. It was a morning full of laughter and excitement between them all. Melissa is a very talented makeup artist and teaches her skills at a college, which made her more than qualified to do her own beautiful make up, including her mother and bridesmaids. They all looked so naturally stunning.
Melissa’s mother, proudly walked her down the aisle of the very beautiful All Saints Church in Sandon Hall estate while Dave waited nervously at the front with his best man. It was a fantastic day for them both; their wedding car was Mike’s super Jaguar which Dave had the pleasure of driving himself and his new wife to the reception venue. When the guests arrived there was plenty of champagne and canapés flowing, the sun was out and everybody was truly enjoying celebrating Melissa and Dave’s Wedding day.
The speeches involved a video from Melissa’s Hen do in London, a Slideshow of photographs of Dave growing up and of him at his Stag Do from ‘It’s a Knock Out’. I can honestly say these truly were brilliant speeches, from tears to roaring laughter, every emotion possible. I even found myself welling up and laughing along.
Melissa and Dave secretly also took secret dance lessons before their big day and this was such a fantastic surprise for all the guests including the parents as they had no idea. There were lots of lifts and swirls and it looked fantastic. It definitely got everybody in the mood to dance.
