Adam & Emily’s beautiful Wedding at The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in Wilby followed by their fantastic reception at The Granary at Fawsley. I don’t think I will ever forget this Disney themed wedding and I don’t think Adam and Emily estimated how quickly “in sickness and in health” would take effect.
Adam took Emily to Disney land Pairs to propose knowing that she is a massive Disney fan – she knows all the words to all the songs (I have to say so do I) and who doesn’t love a good Disney song? Adam and Emily are so full of life and it truly was a memorable day – the Disney theme was subtle and a great way to represent the two of them. Vanessa, Emily’s Mother had arranged quite a surprise for them both; Micky and Mini Mouse were there to greet them and all the guests at the wedding reception.
Adam’s family got the Norovirus in the week running up to the wedding… Adam and Emily took all the precautions you could possibly imagine but Adam came down with this horrific virus on his wedding day! It hit him straight after the speeches; this is not something you would wish on anyone, especially on their wedding day. Adam collapsed during the group photographs, this was very worrying for everybody; a paramedic was called immediately. Emily so lovingly laid by his side and his closest family members stood around them both. I knew this moment was very sensitive, but being a documentary photographer I waited in the background to ensure he was OK and tiny gap in the crowd appeared so I could see Emily and Adam in my sight. As it really was a truly loving moment between the two of them, I had to get a photograph of this! I was hiding behind one of the guests with the camera by my waist as I didn’t want to draw attention or be disrespectful to the situation in hand; I just knew that this was a lovely moment in all the upset.
A beautiful loving bride kneeling on the floor caring for her husband “in sickness and in health”.
Luckily it didn’t affect most of their wedding and it could have ruined their day but I and every guest there saw something else; something beautiful. It was so lovely to see Emily and Adam taking care of each other in this situation, and it was still one of the best day of their lives. From the morning preparations with Emily to the fantastic Disney reception it was a truly loving whirlwind of a fantastic wedding to document.
I now need a box of tissues! I hope you enjoy looking through their documentary wedding photography as much I enjoyed documenting their wedding day. I will never forget Emily and Adams wedding day, not because Adam fell ill but because of the obvious love between them no matter what life throws at them.
A big thank you to Emily and Adam for letting me share their beautifully wedding story with you all.
